Soaring Safety Foundation

Bronze Badge

Here is a great study guide for the new bronze badge exam. This makes a thorough review for the new season and would be good to go over before your spring checkout ride. Also, for our new members passing this test is required before you are allowed to fly the Grob. Find the review questions Here.

Currency Reminder

Remember, if you have not flown a glider in 45 days you must have a check out with an instructor to legally fly a club glider. Don't put our insurance and your wallet in jepardy. Roger Moore, Lynn Alley, Paul Schneider, Jim Arndt and Lee Steorts are CFIG club members. Call one of them to schedule a check out. Also available for check outs is Morgan Valley Soaring. You can use their a/c or our Grob at Morgan. Be sure your biannual flight review is current for the same reasons. Please use the schedule system on the web site. And PLEASE get your reservation off the schedule ASAP if you change your mind. "NO SHOWS" hurt everyone.

Scheduling Records

Please use the scheduling system for all flights. Even if you just show up at the airport and find a ship available. Put your flight on the schedule after you get home. We use the data gathered from the system to keep track of ship use, member preferences and other scheduling data. If you cancel a reservation, put in the remarks box the reason for the cancellation. The schedule system keeps track of all entries and we can see the reasons for changes. This will help keep our data validated. This doesn't remove the requirement to log the actual time in the notebooks in each airplane for log book data so keep doing that also. Thanks for your help as we try to make the club better for your use.

Glider Limitations

The performance numbers and limitations for each of our club ships have been
posted to the web site for your review. Go to the Club Ships page and click on
a photo to see the numbers for that aircraft. A great way to review prior to a flight.
